The Bardwell Charities, helping the parish of Bardwell since 1442
Welcome
The Bardwell Charities have been caring for the people of the parish since 1442, when the first of several bequests was made. These gifts were consolidated by a scheme authorised by the Charity Commission in 1883.
Further amendments to the scheme have brought us to where we are today, with up to eight Trustees managing the assets and applying the income in accordance with the revised scheme of 1984.
The income is divided between the Estate Charity, Relief In Need Charity, The Church Charity at Bardwell, and the Bardwell Educational Foundation. Of these, two make payments through grant applications, and they are: The Relief in Need Charity, and The Bardwell Educational Foundation
